Football Child Abuse Claims
Another Club has been mentioned in the press concerning allegations of football child abuse claims. The club concerned is Queens Park Rangers Football Club (QPR) where it is said that a former employee of the football club has been implicated and a spoke person for QPR have said that it will take such allegations ‘very seriously’ and will co-operate fully with any forthcoming investigations.
The allegations were made on the Victoria Derbyshire programme and such complaints are historic dating back to the 1980’s.
Yesterday Matt Le Tissier has also come forward to say that whist at Southampton he was given a ‘naked massage’ by an ex-Southampton Football Club coach who is at the centre of football sexual abuse allegations.
On the BBC website about child sexual abuse in football it is reported that:
Martin Glenn, FA chief executive, has said: “We have clear rules in the game and if there’s any evidence of a breach of those – and hushing up would be one – when it’s our turn to apply the rules, we absolutely will, regardless of size of club.”
The Football Association – Their involvement
The FA have appointed live Sheldon QC – to make a full inquiry into the football sexual abuse scandal which may take many months to conclude.
